Element Boolean
Combine, cut or split solids across any category into a new DirectShape.
Modify panel
What it does
Two selection sets — “These” (targets) and “Cut with” (cutters) — with a one-click Swap. The cutter card hides for operations that do not need it.
Feature by feature
Capabilities
Five operations
Merge into one (union), Cut away (difference), Keep only the overlap (intersect), Split into pieces, and Cut using lines — a closed line outline cuts its own shape, a single line slices straight through.
Cut-with-lines options
Pick Lines, depth mode “Cut right through” versus “Cut a set depth (cm)”, Grow by (cm) to offset the cut outline, and Keep the cut piece too.
Result options
Keep the originals, Separate loose pieces (explode disjoint solids), and Retry if faces touch — a tolerant re-attempt when coincident faces break the boolean, on by default.
Category handling
Works across any category; output is a DirectShape carrying the result solids, materials and category, falling back to Generic Model when needed.
