Fill a picked boundary with copies of a picked element.
Modify panel
What it does
Pick a boundary and an element, choose a layout, and the tool reports how many copies fit before you commit.
Feature by feature
Capabilities
Layout patterns
Grid, Staggered and Scatter.
Density
Spacing (cm) for the grids, or Copies (5–500) for scatter.
Limits
Edge margin (cm), Allow overlapping, and a Min distance (cm) rejection radius when overlap is off.
Randomization
Seedable Wander (positional jitter), Rotate (From/To 0–360°) and Resize (Min/Max 0.2–3.0×) — the same seed reproduces the layout exactly.
Resize handling
Converts to DirectShape when resizing, because Revit cannot resize family instances.
Feedback
Live count (“N copies” / “Nothing fits”) and live preview before Fill.
